Gus Wylie is an acclaimed photographer, who has photographed the Hebrides over the last three decades and has three published books of Hebridean photographs. 

The photographs on display capture a sense of Hebridean life from a particular time and place.

The archaeological artefacts on display are recent acquisitions which Museum nan Eilean bid for through the Treasure Trove Scotland process.  They are chance finds that were found locally by members of the public or were part of formal archaeological digs by universities.
