About

Scalpay Historical Society (Comunn Eachdraidh Scalpaigh) was first established in 1982 to promote the history, heritage and culture of the island. It was recently re-established as a Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation. Based in the Scalpay Community Centre, the society collects and maintains archive documents, artefacts, photographs and other material of historical value. The society holds exhibitions and events for the local community and visitors that tell the story of Scalpay and its way of life.
